The Role:

Viasat has a market reputation for delivering the best internet in the sky; we deliver broadband internet to thousands of aircraft worldwide including some of the world’s largest airlines.  Our new digital platform connects advertisers and retailers to travellers inflight, with a range of highly innovative digital ad solutions. We are shaping the future of inflight entertainment, advertising and e-commerce as we build a digital marketplace that benefits airlines, passengers, and our client brand partners.


We are looking for an Advertising Channel Sales Director who will build advertising sales channel partnerships with agencies, affiliate marketing networks, specialist resellers and aggregators, and a range of DSPs, and provide account management to select strategic accounts.  Our current clients are some of the world’s most successful brands in retail, travel, technology and consumer services.


You will ideally be based in our Dublin office, and work as part of a global team.   Serving a wide range of advertisers, including consumer brands, online services and retailers, you will find the right advertising solution and commercial structure model for each client. Your understanding of Viasat’s innovative ad products and entrepreneurial drive will allow you to communicate the value of Viasat’s platform and network, and work with partners over the long term to deliver ongoing customer success and ROI for them.  


Using your effective communication skills, you are the face of Viasat to a growing sales channel set of key accounts. You will help define the strategy for how their products and services can reach thousands or millions of users, and communicate their feedback to our product development teams.


Responsibilities:

  • Build our network of ad resellers, by onboarding specialist airline advertising firm, global ad agencies,  affiliate marketers and DSP. 
  • Manage a pipeline of ads sales across external resellers worldwide
  • Contribute to the setting of commissions, targets and quotas for the channel
  • Contribute to the setting of pricing of the ads.
  • Produce reliable monthly, quarterly and multi-year sales forecasts
  • Provide strategic advice and help partners get the best return on investment by working closely with them in a consultative role.
  • Support our airline sales team in communicating the value of the Viasat ad platform to prospective customers, and present at regular
  • Mange a limited number of key accounts. Communicate with them proactively, and provide regular account review. 
  • Work with data analytics team to create analysis and insights and data sets to internal teams and to clients.
  • Implement creative ways to improve our customer relationships, tailor and share performance-enhancing suggestions, and promote Viasat products.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills; ability to communicate comfortably with senior executives, internally and externally.
  • 10+ years progressive experience in advertising & media sales
  • Sales management experience, particularly indirect sales channels
  • Deep understanding of the advertising ecosystem including agencies, DSPs, affiliates
  • High proficiency using CRM (Salesforce), Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Rigorous focus on client success

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience working/operating in an international context.
  • Interest / understanding of the aviation or satellite internet industries.
