Job Responsibilities

If so, come join our Government Systems Segment as a Communications Signals and Circuits Design Engineer and be integral to supporting new and existing space and communication programs. As a Communication Signal and Circuits Engineer at Viasat, you will propose concepts to solve customer problems.  You will help implement the system along with other system engineers by leveraging technology assets across ViaSat and our partners.  The products and systems you will help define are in SIGINT, RADAR, and communication applications.  You will help build system solutions to solve a wide range of radar and communication problems.  You will join our team contributing to analog circuit design, digital circuit design, and Model-Based Design methodologies for programmable logic on communication and radar systems.   • Entry-level position with professional or academic experience in circuit design and applied signal processing.
  • Background/course work in circuits, signals, systems, random processes, communication theory, and spectral analysis.
  • Experience with circuit and/or programmable logic design in communication or radar applications.
  • Strong communication skills - both verbal and written. 
  • Ability to perform systems-level analysis.
  • Ability and willingness to obtain a security clearance.  
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • US government position. US citizenship required.
  • Up to 10% domestic travel. 


  • M.S. or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Security clearance with SSBI/SCI highly preferred.
  • Experience with computer-aided circuit design tools.
  • Experience with system simulation in Matlab, C/C++, or Python.
  • Knowledge of RF or networking fundamentals.
  • AESA/phased array, Radar, SIGINT, or EW experience.
