Viasat is a growing, global company more than 4,500 strong across 26 offices We think big, we act intelligently, and we're not done we're just beginning! We are currently seeking a dynamic Contracts Manager  to help with this growth.

Are you a Contracts professional with a proven track record who enjoys collaboratively creating creative and strategic business agreements to meet company goals? Can you lead teams in negotiations through all contracting phases across a variety of contracts both domestic and international? Do you use your superior communication skills to proactively build relationships with customers and internal business partners? If doing this in a fast paced environment with a rapidly growing company then you may be the right candidate for our position as a Contracts Manager in our Carlsbad office.

As a Contracts Manager, you will be in charge of domestic and international contract management activities.  Your expertise in skilled negotiations and cultural sensitivities will enable you to work with Governments and companies in the U.S. and overseas.  You will work closely with capture team and management in creating new business proposals, assess risk on terms and conditions and create contractual solutions.   You will prepare teaming and international representation agreements and will act as the focal point in business relations and coordinates with business development managers and program managers in the proposal, negotiation and execution phases of the assigned programs.  You will also employ your knowledge of procurement regulations and consult with other Viasat departments and ensure compliance with contract and legal requirements.


Requirements:
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of hands-on experience in drafting and negotiating contracts and other agreements.
  • Team player with strong business acumen and attention to detail.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly with employees at various levels within the organization, as well as customers.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration (Finance, Accounting or related field).
  • U.S. Government Position.  U.S. Citizenship Required.
  • Up to 10% travel.
Preferences:
  • MBA, JD or CPCM certification.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Secret clearance.
  • Approximately 10% travel.
