Job Responsibilities
Are you passionate about solving problems? This is your opportunity to work hands-on throughout the summer and learn more about what it takes to run a successful design organization.
As a DesignOps intern, you will work on a variety of projects that will not only challenge your skills but will make a real impact on the research and design practice across the entire CXRD team. Using a design thinking approach, you will take on complex tasks and transform operational necessities into delightful employee experiences. You will work with designers, user researchers, and other product teams - with a variety of goals, from enabling efficient processes with workshops and tools, to communicating the value of design through internal and external communications, to building initiatives that connect and support team members across the globe. You will anticipate what our team members need, advocate for them and ensure the final product is how it should be.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Communicate standards of practice, manage initiative schedules, design and lead team workshops
- Collaborate with our researchers and designers to uncover pain points and define opportunities to level up the team
- Assist in primary user research with the design team
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher in User Experience, Interaction Design, Graphic Design or related fields
- Demonstrated proficiency with Figma
- Creative curiosity, analytical, & hardworking enthusiasm
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to frame narratives through story telling
- Self-starter, collaborative, and independent
- Ability to commit to a 10-12 week summer internship
Preferences
- Background in user-centered design principles
- Rising senior or graduate student standing
- Project management experience
- A portfolio of your previous works

At Viasat, we consider many factors when it comes to compensation, including the scope of the position as well as your background and experience. For United States-based jobs only: The pay range for this position is $19.00 to $54.00 hourly; however, base pay may vary within this range depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Additional cash or stock incentives may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
