Job Responsibilities
With demonstrated capability in Satellite communications, and antennas, Viasat is able to provide state-of-the-art communications systems for both commercial and government customers, and we are looking for highly motivated team members with a spirit to learn and constantly improve.

Viasat is looking for an experienced Engineering Probe Technician to join our growing team.  In this exciting role, you will be able to use your RF and microwave measurement expertise to participate in building the next generation of advanced satellite systems.  As an Engineering Probe Technician with expertise in making high performance integrated circuit measurements, you will be responsible for first-time measurements on new microwave ICs. You will work with engineers and experienced technicians regarding measurement techniques, methods, and plans. You will be a key member of the division involved in providing Viasat and external customers with advanced integrated circuits for space and ground terminals. Sound interesting? Read on!

5+ years of relevant RF/microwave measurement experience  
Experience with Microwave measurement test equipment
Experience in at least one of the following:  Noise figure, S parameters, PNA-X, RF power 
Thorough understanding of VNA calibration techniques (SOLT, TRL, LRRM)
Experience with chip and wire as well as SMT assembly methods
Written Documentation Skills: Ability to consistently and systematically organize large amounts of numerical data
Oral Presentation Skills: Ability to communicate measured results as well as measurement tradeoffs to engineering staff
Ability and willingness to train for laser trimming features on ICs 
Associates Degree in Engineering Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience
U.S. Government Position.  U.S. Citizenship Required 
Up to 10% domestic travel

HP-V programming
Proficient using Microsoft Office software (Excel plotting, pivot charts a plus)
Basic knowledge of various transmission line media (microstrip, stripline, wave guide, etc.)
