As an Intern-Finance Analyst you will:
  • Assist the Financial Planning and Analysis team by automating existing manual ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes for various excel based financial models. 
  • Provide the Web Development team with actionable insights to improve the company website and sales funnels through A/B Testing and analysis.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with departments across Viasat to assist in data collection and analysis.
  • Review and analyze data from multiple data sources with the goal of presenting your findings to management. 
  • Develop, analyze, and modify data processes, reports, and dashboards.

Skills Needed:
  • Analytical Skills: You will be working with complex and large data sets, which can be difficult to draw conclusions from.  You will need to be capable of mining that data to find key trends and insights. 
  • Communication Skills: You will have the opportunity to present your findings, or translate the data into analytical dashboards, kpis, or reports. You will need to write and speak clearly, easily communicating to business users.
  • Attention to Detail: Data analysis accuracy is extremely important. You have to make sure you are vigilant in your analysis to come to correct conclusions
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in a Finance, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics or Business discipline
  • Excellent analytical thinking and problem solving skills
  • A self-starter who is ready to take initiative
  • Enthusiasm for turning data into analytical insights that drive business decisions
  • Experience with Excel
  • Experience with SQL
  • Minimum of 2 years of college study in a quantitative field: economics, statistics, computer science, information management, or data science
  • Ability to commit to a 10-12 week internship
  • Experience with Google Analytics
  • Experience with Tableau
