Job Responsibilities

Viasat is seeking an experienced global logistics analyst to support our global logistics and fulfillment function.  The individual will be responsible for managing our transportation providers and warehouses through analytical support, along with driving improvements in our fulfillment processes. He or she will support strategic planning of new market entry needs, help implement and manage warehouse and freight systems, and project based shipment planning. The successful candidate will play an instrumental role in enabling global fulfillment as Viasat expands its global footprint through systems and developing process changes. 

 

Responsibilities


Program analytics to determine inventory management needs throughout the globe. System administration and development of new standard operating procedures and documents in conjunction with systemic ERP changes. Corporate shipment and inventory fulfillment needs for internal customers will be managed in conjunction with any new transportation management systems put in place. Order to cash management and input into global footprint based on cost savings and consolidation plans.

 

Duties will also include the improvement of processes and costs, negotiation with brokers, forwarders, truckers, and handle issues with any shipment needs, both inbound and outbound.

 
·       Contribute to continuous improvement within the area of responsibility through data analysis andcreation of metrics, KPI’s, and executive financial reports.

·       Ability to both lead and act as a member of a team.

·       Assist management and logistics managers in the development of procedures and processes which improve Viasat’s ability to meet product system and customer requirements.

·       Communicate with peers and supervisors regularly, document work, meetings, and decisions.

·       Provide business leaders with clear awareness of current state process, system capabilities, andfuture roadmap in conjunction with peers and managers in local regions.

·       Analyze and translate demand forecasts using manufacturing consumption to develop and improve accuracy of inventory, validate and analyze data while developing reports, communicate discrepancies.

·       Interface with international and domestic carriers, overseas offices, and importers.

·       Collaborate with third party logistics providers, carriers, and freight brokers to maintain and continuously improve service levels and costs associated with third-party transportation.

·       Provide support in the evaluation of quotations received from third party partners to assure that all  pertinent information is available; best price, and service.

·       Proactively audit supply chain to identify gaps and make necessary recommendations to leadership to close gaps.

·       Participate in the development of new services and systems, continuously look for ways to improve workflow and ensure the supply chain systems are on a continuous path to improvement.

·       Help cover any transactional needs where applicable.


Requirements


·      Bachelors in Supply Chain Management, Industrial engineering, Logistics, Procurement or related field preferred

·      3+ years of experience in an logistics & distribution, Supply Chain Management, or related (i.e. Demand/supply Planning)

·       Change management skills and ability to operate effectively in a fast paced environment

·       Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies

·       High analytical aptitude capable of interpreting data to identify trends

·       Project Management skills, self-starter

·       Ability to work with little or no direction, can work independently and collaboratively as a team member to meet goals while maintaining an organized and systematic approach to task completion

·       Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, and research skills a must

·       Consistently meets or exceeds our internal and external customers’ expectations

·       Proficiency in MS Office Suite

·       US Citizenship required

·       Must be willing and able to travel domestically and internationally

·       Up to 25% travel 


Preferences


·       Knowledge of reporting and analytical tools, such as Alteryx, Tableau and OBIEE

·       Lean management or Supply Chain certifications are a plus

·       Experience with Oracle, Transportation Management Systems and Global Trade Management Systems

·       Advanced excel skills a plus

·       Fluency in English/Spanish a plus
