Job Responsibilities

As a Hardware Engineer at Viasat you will be responsible for developing a wide range of diverse hardware for testing and troubleshooting our highly regarded commercial, military and space products. You will produce test fixture and interface test adapter (ITA) designs, including custom PWAs, which meet performance, cost, and manufacturability goals. In this role you will work closely with Operations, Production, and R&D on continuing to build our test capabilities for new products while improving existing test devices and methods. Your ability to work independently as well as in a team environment, in a fast paced, rapidly changing, short turn-around environment will be key factor to the success of the team. You'll be asked to contribute to program responsibilities to include proposal efforts, requirements definition, conceptual design, tradeoffs, detailed design and drawings, prototype build, integration and test. 

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering 
  • Strong troubleshooting skills - low-level electronics to system level
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to envision tests which pinpoint root cause of a problem
  • Strong written, and verbal communication skills, team player
Preferences:
  • Previous internship experience
  • Experience with electronic component selections for new designs and replacement of End of Life parts (FPGA, ADC/DAC, etc.)
  • Experience with O-Scopes, Spectrum Analyzers, Network Analyzer, Logic Analyzers, Sig Gens
  • RF Experience (Smith Chart, Noise Figure, PSD, LNA, PA, Mixers, etc.)
