Job Responsibilities

As a member of the Global Infrastructure team, you will contribute to the design, architecture, and end-to-end deployment in mixed environments of Linux, Unix, and Windows with a primary emphasis on applications hosted on Linux. Your duties will cover a large array of tasks from automating the deployment of services and systems, to creating deployment frameworks and pipelines for CI/CD managed systems.

Your duties will also include deploying and supporting fundamental data center services on data, control, and management planes.  As an escalated point of contact, you will utilize exemplary customer service skills to help support lab and production environments in customer and internal networks. Your primary role will be to deploy and support the applications in the public and private cloud and utilize your Linux and Windows skills to bring up new infrastructure and applications to support our ever-growing needs across the enterprise.  

The role will implement, manage performance, and support physical and virtualised infrastructure and networking.  They will ensure the effective resolution of satellite network issues to satisfactorily restore network performance and functionality.

This role will work locally in the APAC Engineering team but will form part of the Global Infrastructure team.


Requirements
  • 5 + years of experience in infrastructure system deployment and engineering in a medium to large environment
  • Experience working in an agile DevOps environment
  • Experience administering Linux systems, particularly CentOS, RHEL, and Ubuntu distributions
  • Experience implementing and administering public and private cloud infrastructure like VMware, OpenStack, and AWS
  • Experience installing and supporting enterprise server hardware
  • Understanding of Linux package installation/creation such as RPM/YUM or DEB/APT
  • Experience with systems deployment and pipeline automation
  • Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or Salt
  • Experience scripting in python, ruby, or bash
  • Experience with source control systems such as git and perforce
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • Must be a citizen of Australia and must be able to obtain an Australian Government Secret Clearance (NV1)

Preferences
  • Understanding of services such as DHCP, DNS, LDAP, NTP, and Syslog
  • Strong understanding of basic networking concepts and basic network troubleshooting
  • Experience with pipeline tools such as Jenkins, GoCD, Bamboo, or Hudson
  • Familiarity with Relational and NoSQL databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Cassandra, or MongoDB
  • Experience with virtualization platforms such as OpenStack and AWS
  • Experience implementing and administering server and SAN systems
  • Experience administering Windows Server installations
  • Good and effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working with local and international teams
  • Good time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail
  • Experienced and competent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or related field is preferred.
