Viasat, Inc. seeks an experienced technical leader. The successful leader will work with business/products leads to create, design to create, design and deliver technology solutions that optimize use of data being generated from Viasat’s product line management, manufacturing enterprise systems and enterprise resource planning systems. As the technical subject expert, you will collaborate with the operations to conceptualize, design and help implement, the data and information architecture, create APIs administer governance and be responsible for using the APIs for integration of a set of applications in support of our growing global operations.


You must be diligent and proactive, show excellent business judgment and strategic thinking, along with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a collegial, fast-paced team environment. In addition, you are expected to:

Proactively lead technology and architecture approaches for Viasat’s global operations activities. Should have a wide knowledge of available tools, popular standards and work techniques. Help make operations leaders make good strategic decisions from a technology standpoint for various projects.

Keep abreast of evolving technology, global regulatory and security landscape, communicate and stay connected with peers and inform stakeholders of various trends that affect global operations, improve efficiency, secure supply chains, measuring quality, etc.

Work with data and enterprise architects on integration of PLM and MES and ERP systems. Identify, document, sources and uses of data, provenance, access privileges, to create a 360 view of operations. 

Understand, document and automate operations workflows – from product planning, demand and supply planning, supply orchestration to cost planning, manufacturing, performance analysis, and financial reporting

Identify feedback loops for faster and better product designs and manufacturing and product quality

Create, communicate and coordinate technology roadmaps with various business segments and operations leaders 

Participate in various execution elements - development sprints, code reviews, vendor discussions, technical contract discussions, etc.


Knowledge of emerging technologies for PLM, MES, ERP systems
Experience in leading software teams in architecture implementation
Experience in establishing data pipelines and creating dashboards for insights, quality metrics for software
Extensive track record in partnering with product, engineering teams, operations, product quality, data and analytics teams
Experience working with a mix of agile teams developing software, vendors and project managers with integrations
Proven ability to establish and cultivate strategic relationships, including with open source developer communities, while solving complex problems in a dynamic, multi-faceted operational environment
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to both technical and non-technical audiences as well as extensive experience in internal and external stakeholder management.
Ability to take initiative and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced corporate environment.
Ability and willingness to travel up to a third of time
10 years + of experience in software development, including 2-3 years in data or enterprise architecture


Master’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent
US citizenship strongly preferred
