Job Responsibilities

As a Link 16 Test and Compliance Engineer, you will help expand Viasat's EMC Features test team with the many terminal designs in development and those planned, and update the certified designs to support the multitude of requirements.  We are looking for a dedicated and multi-talented professional to join the test team and take on this detail-oriented test position.  You will bring your ideas and apply your innovation and experience to create new and modern test techniques.  Test automation will be a key contribution area in order to reduce test time.  You will work with different customers within and outside Viasat to ensure all EMC Features requirements are met.  You will be challenged on a daily basis to ensure the success of current and future Link 16 terminal designs and continue to grow the Viasat Link 16 business area.



Requirements

·        3+ years’ experience in RF and digital test including the use of spectrum analyzers, high speed digital and mixed signal oscilloscopes, high performance RF signal generators, digital signal generators, logic analyzers.

·        Familiarity with RF components and test methodologies as may be required to facilitate and instrument tests being performed and the limitations and specification of required components.

·        Demonstrated ability and desire to work hands-on in a lab environment while developing and performing the tests required for EMC Features.

·        Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, and ability to work with diverse teams of personnel inside and outside Viasat.

·        Proven detail oriented with the ability to plan and track large number of diverse requirements.

·        Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Math, or a related degree or equivalent experience.

·        US Government position.  US Citizenship required.

·        Active Secret clearance, or have held an active secret clearance within the past two years.

·        Ability to travel up to 5%.



Preferences

·        Candidate shall be a self-starter and work both independently and in a team.

·        Ability to manage and collaborate the efforts of other team members supporting the projects being worked on.

·        Familiarity in the use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project and the like).

·        Familiarity with the use of test automation tools (VBA within Excel, LabView, and similar).
