Job Responsibilities
  • Consult senior engineering staff regarding the proper implementation of government and industry workmanship and reliability standards and requirements  
  • Coordinate with management and other trainers to determine technical training needs and develop a training schedule supporting multiple sites
  • Coordinate and manage the cadence and delivery of training programs
  • Develop new course curriculum to support engineering and technical staff
  • Development of training plans for new hires, business areas and engineering teams
  • Coordinate with other organizations such as Safety and Compliance to evaluate, review and approve new training courses and materials
  • Select, purchase and manage training tools, equipment, materials and lab space necessary for certifications which require hands-on lab work
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts     
  • Monitor training results and drive production and quality improvements
  • Contribute to NPI engineering efforts as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for supplier, workmanship, training and occasional failure analysis activities
  • Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to prioritize, be detail oriented, and have history of managing time well to accomplish multiple tasks in parallel
  • Strong computer skills required (Word, Excel required, PowerPoint).

  • 10+ years of experience in training in a manufacturing setting with specific standards
  • Strong Process, Manufacturing and/or Quality Engineering background with high-reliability electronics hardware
  • Previous experience as an instructor
  • Previous experience managing multiple training or certification events in a corporate setting
  • Strong knowledge and familiarity of IPC J-STD-001, IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620
  • BS degree in Electrical or Industrial Engineering, HR or related field
  • Travel up to 20% domestically

  • Previous work experience as a training coordinator
  • Current Trainer (CIT) certification for IPC J-STD-001, IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 including the IPC Space Addendums
  • US government position. US citizenship preferred.
