Job description
- Own product and platform success from conception through the entire product lifecycle, including through maturity
- Create, find, gather, and brainstorm ideas for new products and product improvements, and from this, develop and pursue a perspective on what makes the most sense
- Bring together the product team of all essential functions (e.g. research, design, engineering, marketing) and facilitate development of a shared product vision and group work for product success
- Own that product vision, and evangelize it throughout the organization
- Ability to foster innovation while driving performance and efficiency improvements
- Prepare presentation materials to educate others, including managing approval process and funding needs
- Create and align across the business detailed product requirements based on team input, but acting as the key individual on making them best meet the strategic goals
- Help determine backlog priorities
- Bring the “voice of the customer” onto our team. Ensure proper research into the customer viewpoint and needs by working closely with research, marketing, customer success, analytics, and users. Deeply understand, document, analyze, and synthesize user needs into product priorities, roadmap plans, and detailed specifications.
- Drive success of the final product and improvement iterations on an ongoing basis with the team and other stakeholders.
- Gain a deep understanding of our product and its uses: evangelize, educate, and engage stakeholders
- Act as a mentor to product management staff both local and remote by creating coaching and professional development opportunities to enable a high performing, focused and inspired engineering team
- Provide visibility to product status to stakeholders
- Engage and evaluate partners and competitors
- Help envision our next generation of product
- 5+ years Software Product Management experience similar to the above essential functions
- Financially driven product roadmap decisions weighing investment and return tradeoffs yet considering qualitative factors such as subscriber experience and longevity
- Strong team building, collaboration skills, communication skills
- Strategic thinker, analytical, detail and results-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills and a strong work ethic
- Highly motivated self-starter
- Passionate about solving problems for customers and have the ability to define compelling products that address those needs
- Fast learner and comfortable with technical details. You can have credible conversations with engineers about technical design tradeoffs including platforms, frameworks, scalability and performance
- You have demonstrated that you can work across multiple teams including engineering and services to ensure a world-class customer experience
- Are productive. You know how to identify the most important issues, prioritize your time and deliver results consistently
- Experience cultivating and maintaining internal and /or external stakeholder relationships
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- You are enthusiastic and creative with the ability to inspire, influence and encourage others, in both relationships with customers and peers
- Strong financial acumen including an analytical and process-focused mindset
- Technical educational background or equivalent experience
