Job Responsibilities

As a Quality Engineer you will lead cross-functional teams that drive efforts in helping develop and build high quality critical components of, review in-house Engineering changes for QA requirements and ensure they are defined into document changes. The role also includes the management of key suppliers.

The qualified candidate should have the ability to:
  • Deliver solutions to complex problems through in-depth data analysis and forensics by using methodical approaches, along with experience, innovation and judgment to make decisions that may be based on partial information.
  • Determine specific quality related functional milestones during NPI
  • Multi-task and set priorities in-line with business needs
  • Team with supply chain to drive supplier excellence initiatives
  • Drive continuous improvement and corrective/preventive action planning programs with a focus on error-proofing and prevention
  • Ensure Internal and Supplier compliance by performing capability auditing and assessments
  • Ensure Advanced Product Quality Planning is deployed across the New Product Development Life Cycle with quality built into the design
  • Ensure RCCA process provides prompt resolution and robust solutions to prevent recurrence, focusing on mistake proofing and process improvement

  • 7+ years as a Quality Engineer or Mechanical Engineer with experience in Quality; in a space, aerospace and/or defense environment
  • Understanding of RF, cabling, electro mechanical, fabrications, painting, plating.
  • Working knowledge of GD & T.
  • Understanding of FAA Part 21 (PMA) and Part 145 (Repair Station) process and procedures
  • Proficiency with implementing and maintaining AS9100 / AS9110 / ISO 9001 QMS 
  • Hands on experience working in a multi-functional team covering, supplier quality, product quality assurance across a wide range of products for both land, space, and airborne systems
  • Strong analytical, communication and interaction skills.
  • Successfully worked with suppliers and/or subcontractors implementing corrective actions and improvements
  • Experience managing and performing all aspects of failure investigations and FRACAS
  • Use of quality improvement tools such as 8D, Six-Sigma and reporting
  • Ability to communicate at all levels both internally and externally
  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical field 
  • US government position. US citizenship required
  • Up to 25% travel domestic and international

  • Understanding or REACH, RoHS and WEEE requirements
  • Understanding of EASA requirements for airborne products
  • Understanding of IPC 610 & 620 requirements 
  • Lead Auditor trained
  • Lean and/or Six Sigma Certification
  • ASQ CQE certification
  • Worked within an organization that uses a phased review process for program management
  • Passion for reliability improvements and data gathering
  • Working knowledge of PLM Tool (such as Agile) as well as ERP system (such as Oracle)
