Job Responsibilities
  • Develop design documentation and code
  • Conduct unit testing and code reviews
  • Conduct Design Verification Testing (DVT)
  • Integrate with Software 
  • Support System Integration Testing (SI&T)
  • Support troubleshooting during all phases and resolve identified bugs
  • Collaborate with Viasat Software, Test, and System Engineering as required

Requirements
  • Years of Experience:  10+
  • Education:  Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related.  Masters Degree preferred
  • Experience with digital communication systems (QPSK) modulators and demodulators
  • Experience with ADC/DAC interface design, encoder/decoders, spreading techniques, DMA engines, SERDES and IP packet routing in FPGAs
  • Experience with resampling and matched filter design
  • Experience with simulation of link channel impairments and receiver impairment correction
  • Knowledge of Altera Quartus2 and Xilinx Vivado FPGA build process, timing closure and build scripting in Linux (tcl, bash, perl, python)
  • Experience with simulation in Matlab, Modelsim/Questa and Vivado 
  • Experience implementing / verifying design blocks in Verilog or VHDL from high level requirements
  • Experience converting designs from various FPGA/ASIC technology to newer technologies
  • Experience with development tools such as Perforce, Jama and JIRA
  • US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status
You will work remotely but must be able to come into the Carlsbad, CA labs.  Design at home, but onsite for all testing.
