Job Responsibilities

As a project manager you will be responsible for formulating, organizing and monitoring a multitude of homologation projects, both related and unrelated. You will determine the strategies needed to achieve multiple goals of the projects prioritizing effectively to meet company needs. It will also be within your purview to coordinate across various functions and business areas.

A qualified candidate will have experience as a project manager to provide strategic guidance across multiple projects in the homologation space while aligning this responsibility with the overall strategic goals of the organization. They will also have experience managing multiple priorities and able to produce results quickly, so that all projects deliver on the stated goals of the organization.

  • Manage and monitor homologation projects across multiple business areas for countries including China, Japan and Latin America
  • Determine strategies to achieve objectives
  • Organize all homologation project activities
  • Evaluate and report on project status and risks
  • Generate and monitor schedules, budgets and other project activities
  • Lead project activities with contractors and vendors associated with homologation certification
  • Measure project progress for ROI
  • Fix larger-level scope issues for various projects
  • Deliver project reporting

Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience working as a project manager and has experience with international customers and suppliers 
  • Bachelor's Degree or MBA or equivalent work experience
  • Strong leadership and the ability to deliver homologation certifications to meet Viasat service deliveries 
  • Homologation experience is required
  • Working across multiple business areas to tight deadlines
  • Experience running multiple projects ideally around homologating new and existing products across multiple countries
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies
  • Understand performance evaluation and change management
  • Proficient in MS Office and project management software
  • Proven leadership qualities
  • Strong organizational skills is key
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills and ability to interact with international partners
  • Problem-solver – Critical thinker
  • US Citizenship is required
  • Travel up to 10% is required
Preferences
  • Experience managing projects in a regulatory environment
  • Certification in program management such as PMP is desired
  • Oracle and Agile PLM is desired
