Job Responsibilities

If so, come join our Sensors Communications and Systems team as an RF Module Lead Engineer and be integral to supporting new and existing military programs. We are developing technology and products that are magnitude better than our competition. In this role, you will lead the development of RF modules to solve customer problems. You will manage the development of RF sensors and communication electronics for our customers by leveraging technology assets across Viasat and our partners. Your designs will encompass a variety of RF components including: power amplifiers, low noise amplifiers, mixers, oscillators, filters, ADCs, and DACs. You will work with interdisciplinary teams including Systems, Software, RF designers, hardware engineers, test engineers, supply chain and others. Sound interesting? Keep reading...


•       8+ Years of RF design experience

•       Demonstrative experience tasking others (Engineers, technicians, assemblers)

•       Ability to perform project and resource planning

•       Demonstrated experience interfacing with customers

•       Perform gain-lineup, frequency planning, and stress analysis

•       Experience with Agilent ADS or other simulation tools

•       Strong communication skills – both verbal and written and has the ability to work with others from multiple disciplines.

•       Excellent teamwork and organizational skills

•       Bachelor’s degree 

•       US Citizenship required

•       Up to 10% domestic travel


•       Master's degree in Electrical Engineering

•       Experience with frequencies above 10GHz

•       Experience with Momentum, HFSS, and DX/Expedition tools or equivalent

•       Experience with high speed data converters (ADCs/DACs)

•       Experience with RF test and measurement methods: gain, P1dB, noise figure, TOI, adjacent channel rejection, etc

•       Experience RF test and measurement equipment: Spectrum Analyzers, Noise figure meters, Network Analyzers, Signal Generators, Power Meters, etc

•       AESA/phase array, Radar, SIGINT, or SATCOM experience

•       DOD TS/SCI Clearance
