Responsibilities

As a key member of the Business Solutions team, you will work closely with IT and business counterparts on delivering technical solutions to meet the needs of the various business and functional areas at Viasat. You will be the primary Solutions Architect working as an advanced technical lead to coordinate, validate and deliver short and long term enterprise data management initiatives.  In this role you will design, develop, implement, maintain and continuously refine data architectures, logical and physical data models, application\transactional interfaces, data integration methods, EDI transactions, and end-to-end data flows.  This includes:

• Drive roadmap for future state; assessing new technology and how it will fit with existing technology
• Utilize agile-based approach to implementing data services and solutions
• Perform detailed data requirements, analyses, design and implementation of complex data models
• Design, direct and implement data integration processes, including data capture, data quality, testing and validation methods
• Own and assist in data model documentation, data dictionary, data flow, data mapping and other MDM and Data Governance documentation
• Provide analysis and recommendations to overall data strategies and roadmaps
• Facilitate the evaluation and selection of tools and technologies to enhance existing integration platform.
• Mentor fellow middleware solution leads/developers on best practices and technical standards
 
This position will work with Business Analysts, Business Intelligence Analysts, DBAs, other Data Integration Architects, executives and business stakeholders to deploy single source reporting for identified and prioritized critical data assets.   This includes, but is not limited to, building, deploying and maintaining: ETL processes, external and internal EDI processes, data quality methods, transactional interfaces, data modeling, EDW architectures, data marts, and data tool/system administration.
Additionally, the position provides instruction, training and guidance to internal and external team members to ensure effective and efficient use of system resources. This position will be key in the selection, implementation and training of data integration and modeling tools and systems covering the entire data lifecycle.
 
Requirements

• 8-10 years of experience with information technology programs and services, with demonstrated expertise in enterprise data management and data architecture.
• Advanced knowledge of physical database design and data structures.
• Experience with hybrid (cloud/on premise) integration architecture patterns
• Implementation experience with micro services, BPMN, BPEL, Service Orchestration, UML Design, Message Exchange Pattern (MEP) design, Kafka, JMS, ActiveMQ and stream-processing platforms.
• Experience with Data Integration, API Development and Big Data Integrations (Apache Hadoop, SPARK, Azkaban/Apache Oozie)
• Advanced experience with security considerations for integrating with internal and external/cloud systems with standards such as OpenID, oAuth, and SAML.
• Experience working as a member of distributed data architecture teams. 
• Advanced knowledge of EAI, SOA, ESB, Web Services, Messaging Services, API Management and other related integration concepts.
• Experience with enterprise data management technologies, including database platforms, ETL tools, and SQL. 

Preferences

• Knowledge of interface engines and protocols. Experience with RosettaNet, X12 and/or XML.
• Hands-on experience with iPaaS and middleware platforms such as Informatica, Dell Boomi, Mulesoft, Magic.
• Usage of automated build and/or unit testing and integration systems.
• Experience working scaled Agile development processes such as SAFe or Nexus.
