In this role, work on complex space programs. Be responsible for the project and program execution through leadership, planning, scheduling, financial reporting and budgeting, and managing deliverables. Identify and mitigate risks, and collaborate with project and program customers (internal and external). Leadership, problem-solving, performance analysis and metrics, making trade decisions, utilizing formal program management techniques (i.e. EVMS), and achieving the goals of the program and business area are key for your success. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Space Systems Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, EE, ME, or Robotics Engineering) or equivalent.
  • 8+ years of extensive experience leading the development of space systems, spacecraft, components, and complex electromechanical systems
  • Superior organization and communication skills
  • Strong competency in project and/or team management.
  • Experience developing, tracking, and maintaining project plans, schedules, budgets
  • Experience with government programs and products including government contract requirements, flow downs, and FARS/DFARS
  • Proficient in using MS Project and Excel
  • Knowledge of EVMS practices
  • Know at least one spacecraft major subsystem (controls, electrical, TT&C etc) in terms of requirements analysis, design, and operations
  • Understand cleanroom facilities, ESD compliance, and safe working practices
  • Detailed and technical knowledge and application of engineering principles, concepts, theory, and practice with all aspects of the satellite system life cycle.
  • Proven experience in organization, planning, and technical leadership, including risk identification, assessment, and mitigation.
  • Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment and organize work assignments to meet established timetables
  • US Government position.  US Citizenship required
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI
  • Ability to travel up to 10%

Preferences

  • Engineering Master’s Degree or MBA
  • Knowledge and experience with project management methodologies and best practices such as a PMP
  • Familiarity with Space Systems, mission, and system design, and major spacecraft subsystems (GN&C, TT&C, power, propulsion, etc.)
  • Experience with leading and writing Government proposals including the leadership of proposal preparation, the review of the technical response to bids, presentation materials, and reports
  • Experience in satellite systems & communications
  • Experience with encryption and security architectures
  • Secret clearance preferred and current or ability to obtain a TS/SCI
  • Satellite system/subsystem development and integration planning, organization, and leadership
  • Ability to collaborate closely with all levels of program and engineering staff on design, integration, and test matters and support other teams and disciplines
  • Experience implementing and supporting quality management in the execution of a program
  • Coordinate and engage with customer and supplier staff, government representatives, and external partners and consultants
  • Active TS/SCI Clearance

The starting salary for this position is $149,925 annually, but an offered salary may be higher depending on your skills, qualifications, and experience.
