Responsibilities

As Sr. Contracts Administrator you will have an exciting opportunity as part of ViaSat’s Contracts Staff to represent the company to a variety of customers on transactional contracts and agreements for advanced satellite communications equipment and services.  As the liaison between ViaSat and the customer, you will be empowered to propose, prepare and negotiate contracts that provide creative solutions to solve unique problems. You will lead a team in negotiations and exercise independent judgment in managing all phases of a variety of contracts and customer interactions. The ability to identify and articulate key deal points and conduct transactional risk assessment and mitigation in order to prepare for negotiation is necessary. You must be able to demonstrate that you can effectively communicate with various levels of internal management on contractual issues and offerings in order to develop and coordinate business positions and contractual terms. The ideal candidate will be a fast learner, creatively solve unique problems, and a self-starter with the ability to work within broad guidelines and general supervision.  You should have depth of expertise in commercial and government contracting practices, proposal compliance, terms and conditions and support of major government, commercial and international programs.  Occasional travel may be required.  

Requirements

7+ years of contract management experience in government contracting.
Demonstrated working knowledge in negotiating U.S. Government, international and commercial terms and conditions.
Proficiency in drafting and negotiating a variety of business related agreements with an ability to recognize and minimize company risk and maximize business and financial opportunities. Examples of agreements include: Non-disclosure Agreements, Teaming Agreements, Software License Agreements.
Demonstrate ability to support FAR 15 and FAR Part 12 Commerciality and Price Analysis matters.
The candidate will be a self-starter and able to think creatively.
The candidate must be organized and able to efficiently and accurately perform the required duties in a fast paced environment.
The candidate must be able to quickly comprehend business deals and effectively tailor the deals to better meet company objectives.
Skilled communicator who influences and shapes the business.  
Strong negotiation and writing skills.
U.S. Citizenship and able to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. 
Bachelor's degree in business or related field.
