Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to work on innovative connectivity solutions? We are looking for a Strategic Sourcing Manager to help identify and source these solutions for Viasat’s groundbreaking satellite networks across the globe. Viasat is a leader in providing satellite communications, networking, and security solutions for the government and commercial sectors. The Strategic Sourcing Manager is responsible for developing sourcing strategies for our Global Enterprise Mobility segment. In this role you will develop a supply base to ensure best-in-class pricing, optimal flexibility, and unmatched delivery and availability performance. Working closely with Commercial and Business Aviation Suppliers, Aircraft Engineering, Supply Chain, and Legal, you will identify and help implement strategic acquisitions, contracts, SLAs, and pricing with an overall focus on maintaining long-term partner relationships and managing total cost of ownership.

You will act as the primary interface between the mobility teams across the enterprise. Activities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Taking the lead on commercial negotiations among our partners
  • Developing high-level sourcing strategy which identifies the best products and services available
  • Collaborating with Viasat engineering on source selection and technical requirements
  • Vetting, developing, and establishing partner relationships
  • Collaborating with Supply Chain and Legal on negotiations and contracts
  • Driving strategic sourcing engagements with our global subsidiaries as needed
  • Partner with internal business partners, participate in team meetings, and update senior management as required
  • Supervise and report on overall strategic goals and suppliers, including performance, efficiency, scale, flexibility, pricing, and risks


  • 5+ years’ experience in sourcing aviation products and engineering services
  • Business experience in the operations of the Airline Industry
  • Qualification and ramping production of NextGen Aircraft Terminals
  • Strong understanding of contract Terms & Conditions and Pricing negotiations
  • Supplier Risk Assessment & Analysis experience
  • Experience presenting to senior management and program teams
  • Must be a great teammate, analytical and results-focused
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 10% of the time

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, a technical discipline or at least 10 years’ relevant work experience
