Job Responsibilities
The Systems Engineer is responsible for carrying out system analysis, system design, system integration, and test activities. The tasks include working closely with Project Managers in order to assist in project planning, scheduling, and risk assessment activities with clear responsibilities and impact on the project’s results. To this end, you have detailed knowledge of the satellite systems and architectures down to individual sub-systems and units with an end-to-end perspective of how the system is integrated along with how the different sub-systems are coordinated and actively interfacing with each other.

The knowledge base of the Systems Engineer includes sub-systems in the radio frequency, satellite baseband, networking, and network management systems. The person in this role is part of a team responsible for a project’s technical tasks from initial requirements capture through design and implementation to testing and delivery. The engineer’s key metrics are direct measures against those.

Requirements
5+ year’s hands-on experience in implementing, delivering, and supporting Satellite networks in a Service Provider environment.
Experience with RF link budgets and satellite system RF sizing and planning
Intimate knowledge of satellite baseband systems and modems with experience in the implementation of sophisticated access systems, including modulation and coding and standards such as DVB-S2
Experience in creating and building test environments, including test plans and procedures.
Ability to understand end-to-end systems and solve issues.
Ability to comprehend complex system architectures and apply an end to end perspective
Experience across all deliverables of a system engineering process such as requirements capture, system design reviews, and compliance with requirements during design and testing.
Bachelor of Engineering/Bachelor of Science or equivalent experience
Up to 25% travel
