Are you a System Integration and Test Engineer interested in joining a development team that is designing, developing and testing Viasat's systems? Do you enjoy the challenge of working in the lab with hardware and software design engineers to duplicate and isolate faults? In this role you will develop and execute test plans and procedures to perform system requirements verification. You will create and modify test software to automate testing and use database software to track test progress and document trouble reports. Sound interesting?  Keep reading.

In this role you will help integrate and test full SATCOM systems including remote modems, antenna systems, and ground station equipment. You will interface and collaborate with system, software, and hardware engineers as new capabilities are developed and transitioned into service. In addition, you will provide support to service engineering to help support an operational global network when support is required from development or test.


Job Responsibilities

  • Flexibility to work among different project teams dedicated to system infrastructure development; scripting, automation, data visualization & dashboarding

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science & Applications, Computer Science & Computer & Systems Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Computer Science & Mathematics, Computer Science & Network Security, Computer Science & Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering & Computer Science, Math & Computer Science, and/or a related field
  • Previous test methodology experience
  • Exposure or desire to work with automation, machine learning, embedded & scripting
  • Previous experience coding in Python, JavaScript, and/or Java
Preferences
  • Previous internship experience in software development and/or test related areas
  • Knowledge or experience with tools such as Git, Artifactory, Jenkins, Puppet, Ansible, Docker.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP network fundamentals 
  • Exposure to Network Programming and Networking fundamentals, Virtualization, Systems Programming
  • Familiarity with Linux
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
