Job Responsibilities
  • Provide Sales Teams with detailed, technical support throughout the sales cycle
  • Understand customer pain points and define solutions to solve customer problems
  • Deliver articulate and compelling value propositions around Viasat products and services
  • Carefully listen and understand customer needs and explain how our offerings can address those needs
  • Establish internal and external relationships with key technical, operations, marketing, product management and program delivery stakeholders within our clients
  • Assist Viasat support structure staff in interfacing with the clients to resolve complex issues
  • Identify new opportunities for growth
  • Downs the customer engagement -  driving the requirement gathering and scoping process and leading customer solution workshops
  • Respond to the technical elements of RFI/RFP/RFQs
  • Increase deal value and accelerate the sales cycle by engaging at multiple levels in the customer organization
  • Present a persuasive business case , sound technical arguments and a clear value proposition to key internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure solutions are aligned with Viasat product strategy and have the commitment and backing of the product, engineering and delivery organization
  • Deliver Customer Demos, Technical Presentations, Proposal Documents and Customer training.


  • BA or BS degree in Computer Science or other quantitative field (Engineering, Mathematics, etc.)
  • 10+ years of technical sales or related experience with a software, consulting or communications VSAT provider firm, preferably with Maritime technical sales experience in enterprise SaaS software targeted to business users
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills capable of building strong relationships with external and internal customers
  • Strong experience facilitating customer solution meetings, ensuring alignment of decision making with internal and external stakeholders (technical and non-technical)
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas, anticipate potential objections and persuade others, often at senior levels, to adopt a different point of view
  • Careful attention to detail, strong organizational skills and disciplined follow-up with customers
  • Strong oral, editing, and written skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Rigorous focus on client success
  • A willingness to travel given the global spread of our client base, up to 25% of your time
