Responsibilities
Programming and Master planning the Carlsbad Campus:
- Develop a long-range campus master plan for Carlsbad for all the business units and subgroups ensuring adjacencies and adequate planning for labs
- Meet with internal customers and develop program requirements for new construction projects and tenant improvements, domestic and international
- Manage the gathering of technical lab requirements (ie. layout, equipment lists, utility matrices) for new programs
- Ensure day to day space needs, weekly move process, and major move events (ie. new buildings) are handled in a cost-efficient and effective manner
- Negotiate with customers to find a common-sense solution that meets the need at the most efficient cost and schedule
- Take in daily requests for changes to spaces, moves, adds, and changes and find solutions to accommodate the groups with minimal spend
- Collaborate with the rest of the facilities staff & outside groups (ie. IT, finance, security, people & culture) to deliver capital projects and space improvements
Assist with space planning software maintenance and upkeep:
- Responsibilities include gaining a solid understanding of the space planning software employed and keeping it up to date with the latest adds, moves, and changes
- Developing a process by which to keep the information up to date in the system and feed more information to the active directory so the IT group doesn’t need to maintain the system of record
- Develop a process to update the space plans whenever facilities make modifications to space on campus (requires CAD knowledge and capability)
Lead a proactive effort with regard to space planning:
- Meet with business segment space planners to review vacancies, upcoming needs, and overall health and wellness of facilities services to the business segment
Requirements
- 5 years within the corporate facilities department
- AutoCAD knowledge
- Excellent oral/written communication skills
- Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
- Terrific work ethic with a positive, get it done attitude
- Character of an excellent people leader (ie. trustworthy, accountable, takes ownership)
- Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

- Advanced web-based tool skills (SharePoint, Concur)
