Job Description

Viasat is seeking an experienced logistics-focused Operations Systems Analyst to support Viasat’s supply chain and inventory fulfillment function. Your responsibilities will be diverse, but you will be empowered to use your initiative and skills in a variety of functions. You will help drive system connectivity through various WMS (warehouse management systems) and company ERP(Oracle/SAP) globally in a compliant manner. You will also prepare and maintain EDI (electronic data interchange) processes, reporting, and analysis. You will liaise with internal departments, and external customers and assist with the management of Viasat’s third-party distribution (3PL) centers and contract manufacturers (CM) to ensure the movement of products throughout Viasat’s Global Supply Chain. This individual should have the ability to collect and analyze data to help improve the organization's supply chain activities, monitor inventory stock levels and support the supply chain team.


As an Operations Systems Analyst, you will be responsible for managing sales order fulfillment, both receipts of inventory into global 3PL partners and contract manufacturers, and outbound fulfillment through monitoring various EDI messages and exception reporting. You will be expected to review the process flows for Viasat's trading partners, to ensure the WMS and ERP functionality is being used in accordance with SOP’s.

In addition, you will:

  • Support supply chain transaction processes for production issues, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all inbound and outbound transactions at Viasat's various global fulfillment centers and contract manufacturers on the regular schedule set
  • Monitor EDI transactions, resolve inventory issues to process error messages
  • Help with creating ad-hoc EDI messages manually, as needed, during a new 3PL/CM transition period
  • Train end-users to create documentation, and support change management
  • Support Operations team during financial period end
  • Develop new processes through analysis that provide streamlined support for fulfillment
  • Provide support through UAT (user acceptance testing) when/if new systems or processes are introduced
  • Maintain key reporting metrics and analysis
  • Provide product movement updates to all internal and external parties as required
  • Support the management team with their initiatives and special projects
  • Work closely with finance, program management, supply chain, compliance, and operations teams.
  • Actively support operational process controls through regular activity and training with the Viasat Compliance Team, Product Management, Logistics, Sales, Finance, Marketing, and Legal to keep the company compliant with trade and distribution regulations.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement within the area of responsibility through data analysis and creation of metrics
  • Assist management and logistics managers in the development of procedures and processes which improve Viasat’s ability to meet product system and customer requirements
  • Communicate with peers and supervisors regularly, document work, meetings, and decisions
  • Analyze, maintain, and participate in the process for manage inventory control activities
  • Participate in the development of new services and systems, continuously look for ways to improve workflow, and ensure the supply chain systems are on a continuous path to improvement
  • Other job duties as assigned *


  • 3+ years of experience in a logistics & distribution, Supply Chain Management, or related responsibility (i.e. Order fulfillment, Inventory management, Warehouse management)
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, and research skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Strong organization and oral and written communication skills are a must
  • Excellent follow-up and customer service skills
  • Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies
  • Contribute to the development of new processes through analysis that provides streamlined support for fulfillment
  • US Citizenship required 

  • Bachelor’s in supply chain management, Logistics, Procurement, MIS or related field
  • Working knowledge of Oracle, SAP, or a comparable ERP system with a focus on inventory management, warehouse management, shipping and receiving, and Transportation Management systems knowledge preferred
  • Experience working with EDI (X12 / RosettaNet) messaging and related ERP transaction processes
  • Knowledge of reporting and analytical tools, such as Alteryx, Tableau, and OBIEE
  • High analytical aptitude capable of interpreting data to identify trends
  • Advanced MS Excel skills a plus
  • Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally

At Viasat, we consider many factors when it comes to compensation, including the scope of the position as well as your background and experience. For Colorado-based jobs only: The minimum for this position is $68,000 annually; however, base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
