We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Enterprise Architect to help us enable the vision and objectives of Enterprise Architecture at Viasat. You will be responsible to implement core functions and components of enterprise architecture that accelerates business growth and improves service delivery across the organization. You will ensure that the right processes and tools are used to collect and curate trustworthy data for the stakeholders to make data-driven decisions. Partnering with the EA team and other Viasat technology and business product teams, you will be the enabler of various constituents, and help make Viasat EA best-in-class.
- Develop, own, and deliver the required core capabilities (tools and processes) for enabling the enterprise architecture practices at Viasat.
- Defining, creating, and governing the processes, data, and integrations across the EA tools
- Create architecture models to reflect the organization's strategies and goals
- Organize training to improve employees' knowledge and skills in software architecture and mentor up and coming architects
- Ensure security is architected in from the ground up.
- Create tools and methods for architecture complying with various global regulatory requirements
- Determine and implement build versus buy strategies
- Support several activities of architecture such as development of standards around applications, infrastructure, data, security, APIs/integrations, and AI/ML solutions.
- Expert level experience and knowledge on Application Portfolio Management, Software Asset Management, Discovery tools, EA and Data Modeling Tools, Data Catalogs, Program and Plan Process, Service and Incident Management, TOGAF and other EA frameworks, Integrated Roadmaps, EA Scorecard and Metrics, Business Process Mining and Management, DevOps tools, CI/CD pipeline, Test Automation, Automation of Users and Systems Experiences, etc.
- 10+ years of hands-on integrations experience across several EA tools is a must have.
- Bachelor's degree in information technology or a related field.
- Solid understanding of architectural design patterns and best practices to address application, data and technology in the context of business processes within the context of existing and new architectures and standards
- Excellent technical, analytical, and project management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and working across various groups through influence.
- Good leadership and motivational skills.
- Experience in modeling and graphic representations.
- Ability to explain complex technical issues in a way that non-technical people may understand
- Change management and stakeholder management
- Up to 25% travel required
- US Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Bachelor’s degree in a field of study such as Computer Science, Information Technology
- Prior experience as a solutions architect
- Tech or Telecom experience a plus!
