You will be working within our Advanced Networking and Cybersecurity (ANCS) business, where you will help to drive the market growth of emerging products and services for DoD customers in tactical networking and next generation tactical wireless technologies. You will use your experience and background to engage more deeply with customers to fully understand their problem and work with both the Viasat business leadership and technical team to ensure alignment in delivering the right capability to the warfighter. You will help drive direct customer engagements to also include proposal efforts, white papers, customer demonstrations, trade shows, and conferences to help advance business opportunities. The position requires flexibility in working hands-on to drive successful outcomes, while demonstrating strong influence and leadership skills. 

Job Responsibilities
  • Lead and support customer engagements, develop and grow relationships, and drive towards solutions that are strategic and focused on solving customer problems. 
  • Collect market intelligence, identify customer needs and priorities, conduct competitive analysis, price to win assessments, and help define the multi-year product line strategy and roadmap.
  • Support and lead proposal and white paper activities, including helping to define the capture strategies, pgo/pwin, competitive analysis, and technical approach. 
  • Work with business area leadership in assessing market/product offerings and opportunities, representing the market/customer/competitor viewpoint. Participate in go/no-go management decisions regarding new opportunities.
  • Work with the engineering team to build an understanding of the technology and products, and to align customer needs with development roadmaps. Bring customer feedback to engineering for future enhancements / modifications to product lines.
  • Work with marketing to develop and execute strategies for bringing Viasat product and services to market. 
  • Apply a collaborative/consultative working and leadership style, relying on common sense and personal competence for persuasion and consensus building.
  • Lead and supervise a small team. 
  • Collaborate across multiple Viasat business areas to optimize customer value and achieve best overall results.
  • Brief Viasat senior leadership on strategic markets, plans and initiatives. 
  • Established relationships within Department of Defense, Federal Government, and Defense Industrial Base end-users and acquisition communities.
  • Knowledgeable in the Federal Government and DoD budget planning, acquisition, and program life cycle.
  • Proven experience and success in business development, DoD proposals and capture management.
  • Ability to work and collaborate across cross-functional, geographically dispersed teams.
  • Ability to lead and supervise small teams.
  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience, engineering focus preferred.
  • This position is a government position. US Citizenship required.
  • Must be able to travel up to 25 percent travel (domestically and internationally), location is flexible.
  • Ability to obtain a US Secret Clearance.
  • BA/BS degree in Engineering (EE, CE, CS)
  • Masters of Business Administration
  • Experience with DoD expeditionary communication technology and CONOPS
  • Experience with networking technologies
  • Experience with mobile devices and cellular (5G) technology
  • Experience with Government systems and service acquisition
  • DoD US TS/SCI Clearance
If the Federal Executive Order for Government Contractors becomes effective, this role may require vaccination.
