Job Responsibilities

The Business Operations team supports all aspects of Viasat’s broad portfolio including government and commercial areas. We manage everything from initial customer demand, through servicing our customer, developing and managing logistics/sustainment solutions to developing a technology roadmap that will move our company ahead.  Viasat is seeking a logistics analyst to support Viasat’s logistics and fulfillment function.  Your responsibilities will be diverse, but you will be empowered to use your initiative and skills in a variety of functions.  As Logistics becomes even more critical in the environment of Global Supply Chain challenges, we need talented and innovative individuals to drive meaningful change in a fun way.  You will be responsible for the efficient movement of goods around the globe via sea, air, and land. This includes shipments from suppliers to warehouses, and ultimately to the customer.  Specifically, you will be responsible for:

  • Coordinate transportation moves globally in a cost effective and compliant manner
  • Create, maintain, and improve logistics processes, transportation cost models, and reporting
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and lead implementation of those improvements
  • Develop creative solutions for challenging circumstances
  • Lead analysis of transportation and warehousing activities
  • Participate in cross-functional forums within Operations, Supply Chain, and Program Management
  • Manage Viasat’s third party logistics (3PL) providers and warehouses
  • Schedule and monitor freight moves leveraging established global 3PL network
  • Ensure 3PL providers are executing all transportation moves in accordance with established service agreements
  • Provide activity and cost summaries to internal and external customers
  • Collaborate with key stake holders to improve service levels and reduce costs


  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
  • High analytical aptitude capable of interpreting data to identify trends
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, etc)
  • Fluent in English, plus if fluent in Spanish or Portuguese
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and research skills
  • Demonstrate strong organization, oral, and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team member
  • Ability to meet goals while maintaining an organized and systematic approach to task completion


  • Experience with continuous process improvement methodologies including 5S, lean, or six sigma
  • Knowledge of reporting and analytical tools, such as Alteryx, Tableau and OBIEE
  • Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally
