Job Responsibilities 

Viasat’s UHF SATCOM business is actively enhancing and modernizing our various software and hardware products. We have developed a vast array of products that provide channel control and network terminal capabilities for military satellite communications. Our products have been deployed by US military and foreign allies for many years that meet crucial satellite communication needs for warfighters around the globe in all weather and terrain conditions. You will be participating in an active hardware or embedded software development team that is elevating our products to be a more capable and robust system by adding more features with increased reliability. We provide a dynamic and flexible work environment where engineers are encouraged and expected to take initiatives and apply their problem-solving skills and creativity to hardware and embedded software design and to resolve technical issues.

You will have flexibility to work among different project teams dedicated to:

  • Printed circuit board design
  • FPGA design
  • Model based design using Matlab/Simulink
  • DSP/modem embedded software development
  • Test automation

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Eng/Signal Processing, Electrical Engineering & Communications Technology, Electrical Engineering & Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering Systems & Control, and/or a related field
  • Experience with circuit board design and/or testing
  • Experience with FPGA design
  • Experience with Matlab/Simulink

Preferences

  • Knowledge and/or experience with DSP
  • Knowledge of communication theory
  • Experience with model based design
  • Experience with chip design
  • Experience with embedded programming
  • Ability to obtain a United States Secret Clearance
