Job Responsibilities

The Procurement Specialist, Global Networks and Technology (GNT) will work with cross-functional teams to support new and ongoing programs and manage Requests for Quote, Statement of Work development, pricing and contract negotiations, procuring goods, managing key suppliers, participating in the Sales & Operations Planning process, and analyzing spend. We are looking for self-motivated and high energy individuals to support the vital work of diverse Viasat teams.

As a flexible member of the GNT Supply Chain team you may support the sourcing of multiple commodity areas including but not limited to:

  • Electronic and mechanical assemblies, custom IC chips, test equipment, etc.
  • Develop relationships with partners throughout the organization and coordinate sourcing strategies, opportunities, and requirements
  • Learn stakeholders’ priorities, ensuring Statements of Work and resulting contracts and purchase orders support those needs
  • Manage quote efforts - including the collection of requirements, management of supplier communications, and review of bid responses
  • Negotiate business area and project specific agreements that minimize financial and business risks, and provide optimal terms and conditions
  • Provide procurement support to internal partners
  • Successfully track, forecast and implement strategic initiatives that deliver benefits to the organization
  • Manage suppliers in areas including:
    • Initiating and maintaining contracts and purchase orders
    • Evolving and managing the supplier base with input from internal clients
    • Monitoring performance of suppliers while serving as a resource to resolve issues and problems


  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Business or related field
  • Skilled user of Microsoft Office suite of business software is required: Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Must have excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation skills including the ability to present to Sr. Managers
  • Previous internship or work experience in a corporate environment
  • Project experience related to Supply Chain
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • High personal integrity and ethics
  • Ability to logically manage issues and conflicts with suppliers
  • Ability to foster a collaborative work environment, influence others, and to act as a change agent
  • Ability to adapt and embrace change in a constantly evolving business landscape
  • Flexibility to learn and to work in a variety of commodities


  • Exposure to ERP or MRP tools, such as Oracle, SAP, and others
  • Working knowledge of data analytics or business intelligence tools such as Tableau
  • Internship or work experience in procurement

At Viasat, we consider many factors when it comes to compensation, including the scope of the position as well as your background and experience. For United States-based jobs only: The pay range for this position is $58240 to $86150 annually; however, base pay may vary within this range depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
