Job Responsibilities

• We are seeking a Software Engineer focusing on Deployment and Continuous Integration that can introduce processes, tools, and methodologies to enable the software development life cycle, from coding and deployment to maintenance and updates.

• This position is responsible for:

• Set up, maintain, and support the ongoing development of continuous build/ integration infrastructure.

• Development of product deployment strategies.

• Create and maintain fully automated CI build processes for multiple Linux virtual environments.

• Write build and deployment scripts for internal and external customers.

• Support CI/CD tools integration/ operations/ change management, and maintenance.

• Develop policies, standards, guidelines, governance, and related guidance for both CI/CD operations and for the work of developers.

• Manage moving product code from Dev/ Test to Staging and Production. Troubleshoot issues along the CI/CD pipeline.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience

• BS Degree or equivalent experience 

• Linux OS (Redhat/Centos, Ubuntu)

• SW deployment and Configuration tools Configuration manage tools, e.g. Ansible, puppet, chef, salt, etc.

• Virtualization platforms using the KVM, VirtualBox, VMWare/ESX hypervisors

• Container platforms such as Docker

• Python experience

• US Citizenship or Lawful Permanent Resident Status required

Preferences

• Knowledge of virtualization and experience with virtualization tools highly desired

• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies

• Continuous Integration & development (CI/CD) experience

• Experience with Monitoring & Control of sensors and devices

• AWS experience is a plus

• Experience with Ansible playbook-based SW/system deployment

At Viasat, we consider many factors when it comes to compensation, including the scope of the position as well as your background and experience. For United States-based jobs only: The pay range for this position is $114800 to $192150 annually; however, base pay may vary within this range depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
