Job Responsibilities
As the General Manager for Trusted Connections, you will be responsible for everything from strategic planning through operation and support. We provide managed connectivity to enterprises ranging from military facilities to hospitality to parks as well as providing these capabilities as a service. This business area supports a broad range of services including internet connectivity, television, voice and cellular with continuous management and cybersecurity monitoring for the networks and end users. The position requires flexibility in working hands-on to drive successful outcomes, while demonstrating strong influence and leadership skills. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing Profit and Loss according to agreed targets
- Driving performance and strategy development through careful monitoring of results and proactively initiating initiatives to correct any shortfalls and act on opportunities to exceed targets
- Building and maintain external relationships with customers, employee representatives, government, technology, and business partners
- Maintaining and building capture and execution teams while encouraging strong personal ownership
- Refining various engineering processes that must evolve to improve efficiencies and enable faster innovation
- Drive Viasat’s culture and replicate these values within the team
- Assessing talent and building a balanced team that provides a solid base for growth
- Forging and maintaining positive long-term links with relevant local external collaborators such as government, customers, partners, etc.
Requirements
- 10+ years' experience in the telecommunications or consumer technology industries
- 5+ years’ leading multi-disciplinary teams
- Proven general management and P&L experience of leading teams encompassing multiple functions
- Strong commercial foundations in the industry and consumer services
- Demonstrated ability to lead proposal efforts and participate in ongoing business development
- Validated verbal and written communication skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance or Engineering
- US Citizenship required
- Ability to travel up to 25%
