Who you are

As the Ad Operations Manager within the Media and Applications arm of the Global Enterprise and Mobility division, you are responsible for all aspects of digital ad operations and will report to the Head of Service Operations. You manage a Viasat ad network running across commercial aviation, business aviation, maritime, and land mobility passenger portals. You work closely with Ad Sales, Account Management, Product and Engineering to grow and evolve one of the most innovative parts of our business.

Job Responsibilities
  • Manage all aspects of ad operations including campaign trafficking, troubleshooting, optimizations, and reporting
  • Continuously improve operational processes, tooling and documentation to streamline and improve quality and effectiveness of day-to-day operational activities
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with Sales, Account, Product, Engineering, Finance and other departments to ensure seamless and successful ad operations
  • Develop and mentor the Ad Operations team, keeping up to date with best practices and industry trends 
  • Ensure ad sales are aligned with AdTech capabilities and ad inventory 
  • Traffic campaigns and perform quality assurance checks to ensure that line items and creative have been set up correctly and are delivering across all platforms and devices 
  • Monitor and optimize active campaigns ensuring operational health, delivery, and generation of performance reports 
  • Communicate campaign status, delivery issues, performance, etc. to ad sales and client contacts 
  • Manage the monthly billing reconciliation process working with Sales, Finance and Data teams 
  • Participate as a key digital advertising subject matter expert in business planning and AdTech roadmap discussions  

  • At least 5 years of ad operations experience, having gained a strong understanding of multiple ad tech platforms
  • Experience trafficking ads for desktop, mobile, and video platforms
  • A passion for operational excellence, strong organizational skills, high attention to detail and pride in the creation of end-to-end efficiencies 
  • Ability to prioritize multiple workstreams while managing stakeholder expectations 
  • Ability to effectively partner with internal teams to advance AdOps and broader business objectives 
  • Must be technically adept within the digital ad space and be able to troubleshoot issues as they arise. You should be able to work with highly technical teams to identify and scope solutions for any client needs or issues that may arise 
  • Interest and flexibility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, startup-like work environment 
  • A can-do, positive attitude, willing to take the initiative with strong desire to get things done and delivery the best results for your advertisers 
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and client service skills 
  • A strong understanding of optimisation and how advertising meets analytics (experience with analytics platforms like GA and Adobe) 
  • Ability to work with data through strong excel skills, SQL a plus 
  • Trading desk experience, working with DSP, SSP and DMPs, a plus
  • EU citizenship or valid Irish work permit
