Job Responsibilities
Do you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment supporting highly available facilities around the globe? If you do, ViaSat could be your future home. In this Facilities Engineering role, you will be part of a hard charging, professional team tasked with designing, testing, implementing, operating, installing, troubleshooting, and continually optimizing our rapidly expanding worldwide facilities. You'll get to operate and manage the grounds and facilities that house our many Satellite Earth Stations. Communication matters and you will have the opportunity to interface with numerous internal and external work groups while managing Break/Fix incidents from the problem determination stage through resolution implementation. Come on board and use your detective skills to identify root causes for technical issues as well as develop procedural/technical recommendations for improvement. Requirements
4+ years' experience in Facilities Engineering, including maintaining and troubleshooting HVACs, Generators, Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS)s, and Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS)s, Fire Suppression Systems and Building Management Systems (BMS)s
• Strong understanding of electrical circuitry and the ability to troubleshoot using diagrams and one lines.
• Ability to author and update technical processes for a wide audience
• Proven ability to manage vendor and remote workforce, to including ability to direct work over the phone and provide technical assistance and assess work product.
• Ability to developing complex Scope of Works (SOW)s and up-train peers and vendors on their execution
• Strong ability to read and understand site drawings, mechanical, electrical, and component level schematics and procedural manuals
• Strong Microsoft Office skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to support rotating on-call schedule.
• Associate Degree in technical discipline, or equivalent work experience
• Ability to lift 11.5kg
• Ability to travel up to 25%
Preferences
• Experience with Generators, HVAC Units, UPS, complex Security Systems
• Hands on knowledge of general facilities upkeep and code requirements (landscaping, lights, gate controllers, etc.)
• Experience programming Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)s to include developing and modifying ladder logic.
• Capacity management of power, cooling, and other site systems.
• Experience with maintenance and operations of pre-fabricated telecommunication shelters and cabinets.
• Ability to define requirements and implement capital build/retrofit projects to include cost projections and timelines.
• Experience with networked monitoring and control applications.
