Job Responsibilities

Are you looking to jump-start your career by joining a highly capable accounting processing team? 

As an Accounting Processor at Viasat, your primary responsibility will be working with utilities and telecommunications vendors. With your attention to detail, you will check and verify the set-up of these accounts, track all vital information, prepare invoices, complete data entry into ERP system, manage payments either electronic or by check. Utilizing your accounting expertise, you will create and maintain a master list of all the utility and telecommunication supplier accounts, manage the online profiles, and oversee the monthly activities of the utility and telecommunication invoices. You will leverage your computer skills to input a high volume of data, generate reports, conduct specialized research projects and respond to inquiries. You will be responsible for resolving account discrepancies using your ability to reconcile difficult accounts. It will be crucial to have a detailed, organized approach in order to keep all accounts in good standing.

You will use your established written and verbal communication skills to respond to inquiries and provide customer service to our internal customers. An advanced knowledge of Excel will be needed for this role. Your strong organizational skills and attention to detail will ensure accuracy in reporting, monitor transactions for adherence to the company’s written policy and controls and support the accounting department in meeting public company deadlines. You will also provide support for specialized projects and audits.
 
Requirements
  • 4+ years of Accounts Payable or equivalent experience in a high volume environment with a core focus on accounts payable, matching, coding, and vouchering invoices, understanding of GL chart of accounts, reconciling Accounts Payable accounts, and interfacing with vendors.
  • Excellent communication skills - both written and oral. Works autonomously, is confident in making decisions & judgment calls based on knowledge of written policy and controls.
  • Experience with large ERP systems
  • Excellent skills with Microsoft Office programs, such as Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Basic GAAP accounting principles related to Accounts Payable.
  • High School diploma or GED
Preferences
  • Previous experience with utility and telecommunication supplier accounts payable management
