Job Responsibilities
In this role you will instrumental for the 5B2 installation and support mission by providing Systems Administration support for servers and client systems supporting the SATCOM gateway. This includes providing active directory support, virtualization support with ESXI, DHCP, and DNS Support in addition to working with Juniper networking equipment. Additionally, you will provide support to the security accreditation process through the implementation of system hardening and documentation needed to generate the accreditation package, and will fill a pivotal role in Viasat’s 5B2 Program in Australia and be involved in the test campaign for system acceptance for the SGS-E site in Wagga Wagga. To accomplish this, you will work with local and overseas Viasat technicians from multiple disciplines and teams. You'll provide primary technical support to team members via phone and email, as well as frequent on-site support when needed to help meet the system administration needs for SGS-E. This job involves working with Defence Satellite Communications, particularly Large Antenna SATCOM gateway systems. This opportunity is based in Canberra however the large focus of effort in 2021 will cover 5B2 system acceptance activities in Wagga Wagga, NSW.

Requirements
  • 6+ years’ experience with system administration experience
  • Working knowledge of Server 2016 and Active Directory, DNS and DHCP
  • Demonstrated experience with ESXI virtualization deployments
  • Proven experience with configuring network devices including Juniper routers and Ethernet switches
  • Experience with security hardening for systems and network devices
  • Ability to pass skills testing for grip and static strength, dynamic lifting and work/positional tolerances
  • Australian Citizen with active Australian Government Secret Clearance (NV1) or ability to obtain one
  • Ability to travel up to 50% to domestic and international locations
