• Available to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks during the summer
-
Do you have technical and non-technical internships?
- Yes! Our internship opportunities range from Engineering, Operations, Finance, IT, Human Resources, Marketing, and more.
-

- Our internship program usually lasts 10-12 weeks and runs from May to August or June to September, depending on your school’s academic calendar. We’re flexible and our internship program is too.
-
Will the internship be paid?
- Yes, definitely! We keep a close eye on market trends to ensure we offer competitive compensation for all employees including interns. We also offer relocation assistance where needed.
-
How do I apply?
- Submit your application by applying to one of our open internship positions. We also host many events at colleges and universities across the country each year so we can meet students like you in person; we would love for you to stop by and meet our team! To see if we’re visiting your campus soon, check out our upcoming events on the University Events section of our career site.
-
When is the best time to apply?
- We start recruiting heavily for interns in the fall, which is the best time to apply for our summer internship. However, at any time, feel free to explore our current job openings and apply to those that interest you most!
-
What happens to my resume after I apply online?
- Our team of university recruiters will review your application to see if your background and interests are a fit for our internship opportunities. If our team thinks you may be a potential match, they will reach out via phone or email for next steps. If you don’t hear from us right away, look out for the new positions that we often add, discover new job postings, and feel free to come chat with us when we visit your campus.
-
What projects will I work on?
- Our culture makes our internship program uniquely Viasat. We don’t believe in interns filing, running errands, or organizing electronic folders. Our recruiters are expert matchmakers who work tirelessly to pair your skills, expertise, and interests with the right internship opportunity. Expect your internship to involve ambitious, innovative projects that introduce new concepts or inspire new company initiatives. Whether you’re helping develop “never been done” technology or solving our most important operational challenges, this will be an unforgettable experience.
-
Will intern housing be provided?
- If you need housing during your internship, several flexible options are available. Your recruiter will discuss available options based on your needs.
-
Will transportation for interns be provided?
- All interns are responsible for providing their own transportation to and from the Viasat campus. We recommend checking out the available and recommended options at your office location. Generally speaking, our interns take advantage of vanpool, carpool, public transportation and cycling clubs.
-
What should I wear as an intern?
- Wear what is comfortable and helps you do your best work – whether that’s sandals or sneakers, blazers or t-shirts, dresses or jeans. Clothing appropriate for a casual office setting works for us.
-
Can an internship lead to full-time employment?
- Yes! Our internship program gives you the opportunity to develop and demonstrate your skills and get a taste of our culture. Our hiring process is competitive, but we’ve found our intern program to be one of the most effective ways to interview for a full-time position. Many of our current employees came to us through internships. While you’re here, feel free to talk with past interns and hear their unique stories.
