Job Responsibilities

As an Aftermarket Repair Manager, you are responsible for leading repair management activity for hardware repairs performed at Viasat and supplier locations across Viasat’s business areas.   You will own product support processes and lead improvement initiatives to ensure Viasat is providing world class repairs support. You will work in a dynamic environment and own repair station KPI reporting during program reviews and sustaining support meetings. You will act as the cross-functional lead between aftermarket services, supply chain, engineering, and quality teams responsible to ensure contractual requirements relating to repair management are continuously met, and you will be responsible for triaging and resolving issues impacting hardware repairs. 

You will utilize your excellent leadership and management skills, along with your customer service experience to ensure the repair team is meeting business objectives and continuously improving processes.

Additionally, you will lead and oversee new repair management efforts in the realm of process definition, execution and the development of sustainment models, including working with other services organizations and programs to define the sustainment program scope, support strategy, value proposition, and position to win.

This collaborative position will enhance the Aftermarket Services team’s ability to proactively support Viasat’s diverse customer base. 

Primary Responsibilities include:

  • Lead repair management activity for hardware repairs performed at Viasat and supplier locations
  • Provide repair station KPIs at program reviews and sustaining meetings
  • Own product support planning including day to day FAA/EASA Part 145 repair management, materials management, and process improvement initiatives
  • Facilitate communication between repair team and programs to ensure business needs and customer contractual requirements relating to repairs are continuously met
  • Coordinate with supply chain, quality, engineering, and reliability teams to triage and resolve issues impacting repair centers
  • Managing supply support activities, including service parts logistics and spares management
  • Managing product End of Life activities

This individual will interface across all levels of management, internal customers and outside suppliers.


Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience in a technical role or equivalent  
  • Experience with continuous process improvement methodologies including 5S, lean, or six sigma is preferred 
  • Experience working with customer service, manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams
  • Understanding of FAA and/or EASA / Part 145 repair station requirements
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent follow-up and customer service skills
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Experience supporting proposals, statements of work, and basis of estimates
  • BA/BS required
