Viasat is a provider of high-speed internet access to commercial aviation customers – the airlines and passengers. Leveraging state of the art high capacity satellites and Viasat’s ground infrastructure and onboard equipment, the airlines and the passengers have the ability to access unprecedented speeds and capacity, a real on-the-ground experience.

Viasat is looking to expand its global Inflight entertainment and connectivity (IFEC) footprint and is seeking a candidate who can help with developing Viasat’s market position in China.  The successful candidate will currently have a highly respected reputation as a thought and business leader in the Chinese Commercial Aviation market. This newly created role will be accountable for developing the strategy, the market and relationships with Chinese airlines and lead business development and sales opportunities in China.

Job Responsibilities
  • Represent Viasat Commercial Aviation business in China
  • Help with developing a market strategy for Viasat
  • Lead Sales and Marketing activities in coordination with Commercial Aviation business development team in Carlsbad
  • Active contribution to meeting, reaching and going beyond the targets and sales numbers assigned by Management.
  • Starting from market requirements and competitors’ services analysis, define the commercial service.
  • Support the Commercial Aviation business in developing solutions for airline customers in the region.
  • Contribute to commercial contract drafting and negotiation.
  • Follow up with customers once the solution is deployed.
  • Contribute to internal reports, sales pipeline development and related sale process.

  • Fifteen years’ experience in Chinese Commercial Aviation market with intimate familiarity with Chinese Airlines.
  • Experience in business development and sales role preferred.
  •  A marketing or business education and master degree.
  • Readiness for extensive travel and customer facing meetings.
  • Familiarity with satellite telecommunication technology preferred.
  • Very good selling skills, time management, communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Fluency in Mandarin (both written and spoken) and English.
