Job Responsibilities
In this role you will oversee and manage FAA certification engineering projects to deliver satellite communications system equipment and services for airline connectivity, along with direct program management support to end customers. Your responsibilities will include: ensuring customer and FAA/EASA programmatic and technical requirements and deliverables are met for the integration of satellite communication equipment (including modems, antennas, power supplies, radomes, and passenger user interface software) onto aircraft platforms; ensuring the integration hardware and software is installable and supportable; managing communication between internal teams, suppliers, and customers; managing cost and schedule for the program. In this role you will work directly with the customer, the FAA/ODA and the engineering integrator to design, implement and maintain an STC approved in-flight connectivity installation. In addition, you will have the opportunity to apply your program management and communications skills to a multi-function engineering team with both verbal and written interactions between the customer, partners, and Viasat senior leadership.

  • 5+ years of experience, with 2-3 years relevant experience on FAA/EASA STC Projects
  • Experience with commercial aviation hardware
  • Experience working with suppliers of aviation components
  • Ability to perform project and resource planning
  • Ability to work across multi-functional teams
  • Understanding of financial principles
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Up to 25% Travel

  • Experience developing/leading negotiating strategies with suppliers
